For classes IX and X, there are 2 types of assessments, i.e., Internal Assessment and Board/Annual Exam. Internal Assessment comprises 3 periodic tests, Multiple Assessment (observation, oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, field-work, concept maps, graphic organizers, visual representation etc.), Portfolio and Subject Enrichment activities.
Periodic tests given weightage of 5 marks each for Multiple Assessment , Portfolio and Subject Enrichment and 80 marks for Annual/Board Exam .
The grades are provided on 5-point scale (A-E) for co- curricular areas, i.e, Art Education, Health & Physical Education and Discipline.
One has to secure overall 33% marks separately for the promotion.
*In Class X, CBSE has started two levels of Mathematics- Standard Level and Basic Level from 2020. There shall not be two levels of examination for class IX. The syllabus, classroom teaching and level of Internal Assessment shall remain same for both the levels.
